Meet Amanda
I’d describe my style as storytelling, playful, and candid. While I’ll guide you when needed, I focus on creating space for real laughter, natural moments, and the little details that make your story unique. I want your session to feel relaxed and fun, never stiff or overly posed.
I grew up on a farm in Melrose, MN, where small-town values and family connection shaped who I am. Now in Brooten, my husband and I are building our life and community together, and I’m grateful to continue capturing the stories of families and individuals in the place I call home.
The heart of my business started with my own wedding. Planning during COVID made it difficult to find a photographer who understood my budget, timeline, and vision. That experience showed me how important it is to have someone who not only captures the day but also supports you through the process. I built my photography around creating that kind of experience. preserving memories in a way that feels true to you.
Running a small business is something my husband and I both share, he owns Backyard Burger here in Brooten, and I pour my heart into photography. Supporting each other’s dreams while building our life and community together has been such a rewarding journey.
I believe there’s always something new to learn. Whether it’s improving my photography, trying new editing styles, or even experimenting with new recipes at home, I love growing and finding fresh inspiration to bring into my work.
Meet Tia
If you’ve spotted me with a second shooter at a wedding or heard me mention help behind the scenes, chances are you’ve already met Tia. She’s not only my sister-in-law but also a wonderful support to the business and a dear friend in life. For the past two years, Tia has brought her calm, kind, and joyful presence to both weddings and behind-the-scenes work. She’s someone you can’t help but feel comfortable around, and I’m so grateful to share this work with her.

Her Role in Photography
Tia has been by my side for the past two years, stepping in as a second shooter during weddings and assisting with editing in the background. She has a natural eye for capturing those candid, unposed connections that make each gallery feel real and alive. Beyond her creative side, she also gives me the gift of time, helping me balance business, personal life, and everything in between.
Life Beyond the Camera
Outside of photography, Tia is a loving mom of three and a staple in the BBE community. She and her husband love backyard evenings with their kids or sneaking away for a good meal on date night. Her family often pops up in my galleries too, in fact, they were my very first clients before my business even officially started. Watching and documenting their growing family each year has been such a special privilege.

Tia isn’t just a helper; she’s part of the heart of this business. Her compassion, dedication, and support have been instrumental in helping me grow as a photographer while juggling life’s ups and downs. Having her alongside me means that when you work with me, you’re also benefiting from her quiet strength, her eye for connection, and her genuine care for the stories we tell through photos.
Our Story Together
Tia has been part of my photography journey from the very beginning. Long before she stepped in as a second shooter, she trusted me to capture her family’s milestones, even before I officially launched my business. Her family was my very first booking, and since then, photographing their memories has become a yearly tradition. From grandparents surrounded by growing grandkids to each new chapter her family celebrates; Tia’s story is woven into the roots of my business.
Where It All Began for Amanda
When I first started photography, I worked a lot with families, and I loved it. The chance to connect with parents, kids, and even extended families gave me such joy, and it taught me how important it is to capture not just faces, but relationships. Over time, my business grew to include weddings, seniors, and more, but that passion for connection has stayed the same.

One of the things I value most is making sure your session feels custom to you. No two families, couples, or seniors are alike, so no two sessions should be either. I’ll walk with you every step of the way, making sure you feel comfortable, supported, and free to just be yourself.
